THE days are numbered for one of Chorley's biggest eyesores. The derelict Eagle and Child public house is on a prime location on Pall Mall and was recently severely damaged by fire.
The building's owners, Chorley-based developer Elmwood Property Management Ltd, want to knock down the three-storey Victorian pub and turn it into a retail unit with residential flats above.
Phil Noblett, managing director of Elmwood Property Development, said the scheme had huge potential.
"It's in a good spot and is right at the gateway entrance to Chorley, " he said. "Because of the fire it's probably beyond repair.
