SUB Greg Brickell stepped off the bench to hit a timely brace in the Easter Monday bank holiday clash, then pledged his allegiance to Andy Whittaker's cause for next term. The Adlington resident, along with fellow ex-Coppull United player Ryan Salmon - both relegated to the bench after poor showings at Spalding on Saturday - made the difference in a late season Irongate derby day.
Brickell hit two goals in four minutes to secure a league double over Chorley, who had just got back on level terms through Franny Barry's reply to Danny Mahoney's first half opener.
