Emms wins full house of medals in Melbourne

Victory for Bedford's Gail Emms in the final of the badminton mixed doubles on Sunday gave her a full house of medals from Melbourne in her last Commonwealth Games.

England's mixed doubles team of Emms and Nathan Robertson defeated the New Zealand pairing of Daniel Shirley and Sara Runesten Peterson 21-17 and 21-10 to claim gold.

Coupled with Emms silver in the team event and the bronze she won in the women's doubles with partner Donna Kellogg on Saturday, the former Dame Alice Harpur School student returned home from Australia with a full set of medals on Tuesday.
