Runners ease to victory
As expected, Bedford & County AC's senior men ran out easy winners at the County Cross Country Championship in Ampthill Park on Saturday.
Matt Janes and Owain Matthews stormed into the lead over the very testing and muddy three-lap 12km course. Janes gradually pulled away over the last lap to finish in 41.09mins, 27secs ahead of Matthews.
Steve Herring was third in 43.18mins, Andrew Inskip fourth in 43.25mins and Chris Riley fifth in 43.35mins, as Bedford & County boasted the first five athletes home to claim the title.
The veterans also ran well, with Robert Lands coming home 40th in 57.14mins, Mick Russell ...
