Article: Cash set aside for CCTV scheme.

FORWARD-THINKING plans are being considered to buy state of the art remote surveillance equipment in a bid to deter crime and anti-social behaviour in Driffield.

The town's CCTV committee have set aside well over [pounds sterling]1,000 towards remote digital cameras, which can be moved around the town while being monitored from a central base.

Councillor Paul Rounding, the town council's representative on the newly-formed committee said: "The cameras we have now are excellent but there are more advanced cameras on the market nowadays. I would like to see us extend the system and we have the money in the bank to do that."
