Mounting a charity expedition to climb an extinct volcano may not be on everyone's wish list - but for a Chesterfield pensioner it's a dream come true.
Superfit Joanne Webster (67) is embarking on a 12-day challenge climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for the town's Pathways homelessness charity and the FALGO project which runs an orphanage and school in India.
"I am a keen walker and have led walks in Scotland, Wales and abroad, but this will be first time I have tackled anything on this scale," said Joanne, of Springfield Avenue.
"I love mountains and have always wanted to climb Mount Kilimanjaro."
