The Minnesota Twins began a three-game series Friday night against the Kansas City Royals thinking they were just three days from having Michael Cuddyer back from a minor league rehabilitation assignment - and getting a boost for their playoff push.
His return will have to wait. The Great Bridge High School grad suffered a nondisplaced fracture of the second metatarsal bone in his left foot Friday after he was hit by a line drive during Triple-A Rochester's game against Indianapolis.
