A heartbroken family has been dealt a double blow after a brave young man died of skin cancer - struck down by the same illness at his mother.
Simon Hartley (31), of Central Street, Hasland, was diagnosed with a melanoma in October but only passed away on Thursday - 16 years after his mother, Carol, died.
His stepmum Ann Hartley, of Clarendon Road, Inkersall, said: "It's been devastating - especially for Simon's dad Graham.
"Simon was such a loving young man with so much going for him."
