UNSUNG heroes of the dog world were told "You're hired!" after a star of The Apprentice cast a critical eye over dozens of pooches from across the Midlands.
Claire Young, runner-up in this year's series of the BBC's The Apprentice, was a special guest at the RSPCA Open Day and Dog Show at Barnes Hill, Weoley Castle, yesterday.
People queued up to enter their dogs into a variety of offbeat classes as far removed from Crufts as you can get. These ranged from Prettiest Bitch and Handsomest Dog to Waggiest Tail which, this year, was judged by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Coun Randal Brew.
