Sony wants to add social network functions to BD live.(CLOUD COMPUTING)

Sony hopes to make Blu-ray's BD Live even more interactive by adding social network functions, according to an interview that CNET did with Sony Electronics chief Stan Glasgow. He said the dream BD Live would be one where "you could interface and change things as you want to see them on the screen." He also wants to allow users to "socially interact with other people." Because BD Live devices are connected through the Internet, he said, "theoretically you and your friend could watch the same movie, and you could change themes, change endings, all sorts of strange things in the future."

"Profiles" is what Sony calls the different versions of the firmware in Blu-ray players. ...
