The best songwriters and authors mature but continue to ask questions, push their art and try to top themselves.
The same applies to comedy, and the late George Carlin was one of the best at it. The back cover of It's Bad For Ya features a quote from cartoon character Zippy the Pinhead: "This life is but a doomed journey of misery and loneliness, punctuated by moments of suffering, and ending in total annihilation."
