Toronto -- The irony in the Toronto "Dyke March" on June 28, 2008, the day before the Gay Pride day itself, was the presence of very young children walking in a sexually explicit parade that toted a sign carried by women and children: "Prevent Child Abuse". These children along with many others were walking in the parade amongst naked breasted women, a man with his buttocks showing, and sex workers holding signs such as "Whore Power", and many other signs with sexual connotations on them as well. It is hard to believe that any reasoning adult would not agree these children were being exploited and abused by their very presence in such an explicitly sexual context.
