China's iron ore stockpiles down to 73.04 mln tons by August 8

Shanghai. August 12. INTERFAX-CHINA - Iron ore stockpiles at China's 23 major ports reached 73.04 million tons on Friday, Aug. 8, down 0.63 percent from the previous Friday, Aug. 1, while Indian iron ore stockpiles dropped 0.53 percent to 20.72 million tons, according to figures released by Shanghai-based Mysteel on Aug. 8.

Over the past week, spot market prices for imported iron ore fell modestly due to ongoing price drops in the downstream steel product market. However, transaction volume remained low with purchasers adopting a wait-and-see approach.
