SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 1996--Retail stores in California will soon be selling Caller ID telephones and display devices branded with the Pacific Bell logo. The company today announced an agreement with CIDCO Incorporated, headquartered in Morgan Hill, California, to supply Caller ID display units, as well as a line of telephones with built-in Caller ID capability.

Caller ID, which Pacific Bell plans to offer June 1, pending CPUC approval, enables subscribers to see the number of the person calling. When someone calls a Caller ID subscriber, the caller's number will appear on the subscriber's display device, unless the caller chooses to block that ...
