NEW YORK--The Jones Apparel Group has maintained a strong-hold in better apparel by blanketing the market, from opening to top prices, from career to casual.
The company has grown through internal expansion, acquisition and licensing. Throughout its 26-year history, it has produced many labels, both proprietary and licensed, including such brands as Regatta, Norma Kamali, Gloria Vanderbilt and Ellen Kaye. These Jones divisions were discontinued in the Eighties, while the core brand--Jones New York-has not only endured and prospered, but has created a host of spinoffs.
