VETERAN greyhound trainer and breeder Pam Heasman has won the prestigious Greyhound Writers Association's award for services to the sport.
Heasman, who has her kennels at Christchurch, has been involved in the sport since 1945, and along with her partner Pat Quinn have 20 racing and stud dogs under their care.
"It was a great surprise to win the award but also a great honour. I could not go London for the awards night but Sky TV sent a camera team to film us here," said Pam, who was also runner-up for the award in 1999.
