IMAGINE enduring such horrendous head pain that you punch your own face, gouge your own eyes and tear your own hair in a desperate - but futile - effort to stop the agony.
That is the scenario, on a daily basis, for many sufferers of a little-known condition called cluster headaches.
They are like a massive migraine but many times more extreme, there is no cure, only very limited relief and suicides among victims are not unknown. Often the attacks occur regularly for several weeks, subside for a while but then return in another cluster.
