SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. & MODESTO, Calif. -- California cow's milk cheese makers won 21 awards at the 2008 annual cheese competition held by the American Cheese Society (ACS), July 23-26 in Chicago, IL.
The American Cheese Society recognizes the finest cheeses produced in the United States. California cheeses had a strong showing in this year's competition out of a near record 180 producers from 30 states.
