Norwegian aquaculture company SalMar ASA (OSE: SALM) issued its second quarter report on Wednesday (13 August), posting an operating profit before fair value adjustment of NOK65.5m, as compared to NOK97.7m in the second quarter of 2007.

The weaker result is mainly due to increased production costs.

Operating revenues amounted to NOK415m, as compared to NOK339m in the second quarter last year.
