Family physicians across the state today commended the Governor's signature of a bill making California the first state in the U.S. to bar restaurants from using health-compromising trans fats in food preparation.
"California is at the forefront of protecting our children's and our families' health," said Jeffrey Luther, MD, president of the 7,000-member California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP), a co-sponsor of Assembly Bill 97, which Governor Schwarzenegger signed into law this afternoon.
