UKIAH, Calif. -- The Mendocino County Fair has announced the results of its 32nd annual wine competition. Fifty-four wineries entered 255 wines, 100% of them crafted exclusively from Mendocino County winegrapes. The distinguished panel of 14 judges awarded 202 medals in 19 categories. Three wines won Sweepstakes awards, which included a new green wine sweepstakes award for a wine made from winegrapes farmed using sustainable, certified organic or Biodynamic[R] practices. The Best in Show Red was taken by Graziano Family of Wines 2005 Petite Sirah; Best in Show White was Parducci Wine Cellars 2007 Sauvignon Blanc; and the Green Wine sweepstakes was won by Bonterra 2006 ...
