COLLEGEVILLE, Pa., May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Inc. (NYSE: RPR) announced today that it has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its new anticancer agent, Taxotere (docetaxel) for Injection Concentrate, as a treatment for patients who have locally advanced or metastatic (spreading) breast cancer which has progressed during anthracycline-based therapy or has relapsed during anthracycline-based adjuvant therapy. Approximately two out of three breast cancer patients treated with chemotherapy in the United States receive anthracyclines at some point in the treatment of their disease.
