The Oregon Golf Association's men's Stroke Play Championship returns to Emerald Valley Golf Club on Friday, and with it comes one of the strongest fields in recent memory according to the OGA's Brent Whittaker.
"The lowest index to get in was a 3," Whittaker said. "So it's going to be a good field."
Among those scheduled to play in the amateur tournament are six members of the University of Oregon men's team, 2007 runner-up Paul Peterson from Oregon State, 2008 Class 6A state champion Jeff Petroff from Jesuit High School in Portland and 2008 Class 3A/2A/1A champion Casey King from McKenzie.
