For the second time in a month, Carson City residents have been asked to voluntarily curtail outdoor water use.
While the water supply is fine for everyday use and emergencies, the city needs to be careful so it won't have a problem later, said Curtis Horton of the city public works department. Hot temperatures, declining stream flows and reconstruction of the Marlette Lake water system have affected the supply, Horton said.
