Nature-lovers looking to enjoy the countryside this summer can now pick up a new brochure of guided walks and environmental events.
East Sussex County Council will launch 'Exploring East Sussex' with a walk tomorrow (May 1). The 'Lord Sackfill and his Terrier' ramble follows the footsteps of the legendary peer whose 16th century land survey revealed much about the land-use and history of Hartfield and the beautiful Medway Valley.
The walk is the first of many events between May and September looking at local landscape, wildlife and history. Most of the walks are led and arranged by volunteers and it is hoped that the programme will encourage more people ...
