As a tribute to my colleague Ralph Klein, in celebrating his retirement from full-time work at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, I want to share this brief reflection based on my reading of Zephaniah 1:7, 12-18. In November 2005 I was invited to attend an international conference in Bethlehem exploring the topic "Shaping Communities in Times of Crisis: Narratives of Land, Peoples and Identities."
