WE BLEW a record E91.5billion on personal spending in the last hurrah of the Celtic Tiger, new figures have shown.
The National Income and Expenditure account released by the Central Statistics Office details how we continued to spend, spend, spend in 2007.
The figures reveal that our expenditure on eating out and foreign holidays went up by a massive 31.5 per cent and 18.5 per cent respectively, while sales of food, alcohol, tobacco and clothes and shoes were all up by between 4.5 per cent and 8 per cent.
