This issue of Parks & Recreation focuses on the important contributions that therapeutic recreation professionals make to ensure that our world is a better place to live. I use the word "world" because I feel that strongly about their contribution. NRPA stands for advancing recreational opportunities for persons with all abilities. And in fact, the true challenge in recreation programming is providing effective and valued recreational opportunities for those with special needs.
