MORE than 40 vehicles have been taken off the roads in a blitz on untaxed vehicles.
They have been clamped or seized in the space of just three days following a crackdown in part of Halifax.
Owners now have 14 days to provide a valid tax disc or surety and pay a hefty fine so they can reclaim their car - if they fail to do so it will be crushed.
A further eight people have been reported for prosecution and they are facing a [pounds sterling]1,000 fine.
Sergeant Paul Banerjee said they were sending out a message to motorists that they could not get away without taxing their car.
"A lot of these vehicles will not have insurance ...
