AN audacious plan has been revealed for Halifax Catholic High to "take over" Park Lane secondary school at Exley.
The Courier understands the idea is aimed at freeing up land at Holmfield, Halifax, for a new academy to replace the troubled Ridings secondary school.
The new Catholic school could also attract children from over the Calderdale border at Bradley Bar, Huddersfield, where another church school is facing the axe - All Saints Catholic College.
Halifax Labour MP Linda Riordan has called for those involved to spell out their proposals.
