Dear Editor: Please allow me to respond to Daniel Golden's ill-considered rant about banning the "intrusion of the military-industrial complex" into every aspect of our daily lives by banning flyovers of football games by military aircraft.
As justification for his premise, he offers the statistic that 22 Blue Angels have been killed since the inception of the team in 1946. Let's see, that's 22 pilots in 62 years -- one every three years or so, on average.
I have a better idea. Using Mr. Golden's thought process, we'd better ban football, since 45 times more fatalities have occurred in football, making it far more dangerous than ...
