OLD Crossleyans have appointed prolific Wharfedale points scorer Jonathan Davies as player-coach.
The 36-year-old full-back, centre or stand off takes over at the helm of the North Two East club from Russ Lawrance, who is relocating to the south west.
Davies is the head of the sixth form at Crossley Heath School in Halifax and has recently moved from the Yorkshire Dales to Oxenhope.
This will be his first major coaching post but Davies, a former North Wales under 21 captain, has vast experience of action at a high level as well as coaching school teams. He also had a year as a player coach with a Portuguese League first division team.
