A fundraising appeal to pay for a life-saving air ambulance dedicated to Hertfordshire has been launched.
Businesses and residents of the county are being called on to back the appeal by digging deep.
This area is one of only a few left in the country that does not have its own dedicated air ambulance to call on in emergencies.
Although the local ambulance service can call for air ambulances from neighbouring counties these are not always available, as they may be dealing with emergencies in their own areas.
An air ambulance can dramatically reduce the response times to serious accidents.
