Cricket: LAUGHTON and Mowsley entertained Gumley in what was billed as their biggest game of the season as the two rivals locked horns again.
Gumley have held the upper hand in recent times and village pressure had been heaped on Laughton to help regain bragging rights for 2006.
Laughton and Mowsley were without six players, with skipper Greenhalgh even having to welcome back Peter Lawrence from his self-imposed sabbatical.
Winning the toss and putting Gumley in on a pitch that exposed technical weaknesses in batsmen and rewarded ordinary bowling, Gumley got off to a slow start thanks mainly to some tight bowling.
