A YOUNG mother died in hospital after suffering a massive allergic reaction during treatment for an infected tooth.
Serena Brookes, who lived in Breach Close, Brixworth, was admitted to Northampton General Hospital last summer to be treated for a mouth abscess.
After being anaesthetised and given a muscle relaxant, the 31-year-old suffered a massive allergic reaction, causing her heart to fail.
Coroner Anne Pember, speaking at an inquest at the hospital on April 18, said: "Nobody expects to come into hospital to have a tooth removed - even though it was under general anaesthetic - and sadly to pass away."
