A PROJECT to turn the site of a crucial English Civil War battle into a major tourist attraction is nearing completion.
The Naseby Battlefield Project is working to improve visitor facilities at the site of the Battle of Naseby, which was fought in 1645 between Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army and King Charles I's Royalist troops and proved the decisive turning point in Cromwell's favour.
Two viewing platforms - Fairfax Viewpoint, near Naseby and Rupert's Viewpoint, near East Farndon - have been built to give visitors a better view of the battlefield.
