AWOMAN who drove a knife through the heart of the man who wanted to marry her has been cleared of his murder.
But Hartlepool woman Jacqueline Maguire was convicted of the manslaughter of Colin Scott, 42, by reason of provocation.
The jury of six men and six women accepted Maguire's claim that she acted in self defence when she killed "the only man she ever loved" on Thursday, February 16. But the Teesside Crown Court judge, Justice Langstaff, questioned the image Maguire, 35, portrayed as being the victim in the turbulent 20-month relationship and expressed concern that she may be a "dangerous person".
