Dr. August Oetker KG, the Bielefeld, Germany-based company well known for frozen foods, although it also has interests in shipping and other areas, has acquired Orkla ASPs Guseppe brand.
The surprising news came as Dr. Oetker reported an 8.4% gain in annual revenue. Sales rose to EUR 7.75 billion ($12 billion) in 2007 from EUR 7.15 billion in 2006 as container-shipping revenue climbed, the company said at a June 17 press conference.
Orkla, a multi-sector business group, had itself acquired Guseppe in 1998, malting it part of the Orkla Brands International division. It has since carried out an extensive reorganization of the unit to concentrate on fewer ...
