THE fight to install uPVC windows in conservation areas could be in line for a major boost.
But plans to relax tough restrictions in Hartlepool could lead to a significant drop in funding for renovation grants to private properties and public buildings.
Hartlepool Borough Council is set to review its policy on repairs to buildings in the town's conservation areas - which could allow home owners to install more modern windows in their properties.
Residents are currently banned from putting uPVC windows in some homes and have to install timber frames to keep with the heritage of the area.
