DOG owners have spoken against proposals to ban their pets from certain areas of town.
Lilian Bristow, of Seaton Carew, regularly walks her poodle dog Caffrey along the promenade.
She said: "I don't think dogs should be banned completely because that would be like banning children from certain public places.
"As long as they're kept on a lead, aren't causing anyone a nuisance, and their mess is cleaned up, then I can't see a problem.
"I walk along here all of the time, it's a lovely place. The last thing I'd want to do is leave dog mess all over.
