GLENDALE, Ariz. _ The unyielding opposition to abortion of the American Catholic Church and Ralph Reed's Christian Coalition, of which the Southern Baptist Convention is the largest part, gives the impression that Catholics and Baptists are in a holy alliance.
Closer examination reveals, however, that instead of unity in a divine crusade against many aspects of contemporary American life, a religious war is raging between Catholics and the Protestant Christian Coalition.
