A MEMORIAL to the 69 Manxmen who fought in the Battle of Trafalgar has been blessed.
A ceremony was held at the site of the memorial on Douglas Head on Thursday.
The blessing was given by the Lord Bishop Graeme Knowles, wreaths were laid and there was a concluding prayer by Father Gerry Hurst.
Those in attendance included Lieutenant Governor Vice-Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks, Mayor of Douglas Betty Quirk, mayoress June Craine and Speaker of the House of Keys Tony Brown.
Also in attendance was Mark Cubbon of T. E. Cubbon Monumental Masons, who made the memorial.
