HISTORIC parts of Kirk Michael and Glen Wyllin are to be made a conservation area.
And other villages could be given the same protected status in the future - with St John's, Sulby, Port Erin and Port St Mary earmarked for similar schemes.
They will join a string of conservation areas that have already been created, including Douglas promenades, North Quay and Upper Douglas, St Mark's, Maughold, Silverdale and parts of Ramsey, Peel, Laxey and Castletown.
Steve Moore, Department of Local Government and the Environment buildings conservation officer, said there had been overwhelming support for the scheme for Kirk Michael.
