THE Sea Express 1 has collided with another vessel in the River Mersey.
The collision happened at 11.20am today (Saturday).
Shortly after, Liverpool coastguard received a call to say that the Sea Express 1 had collided with a tug towing bulk carrier Alaska Rainbow in the Mersey in foggy conditions.
The fastcraft ferry was taking on water and had two tugs in attendance. Three lifeboats and two coastguard teams were also called to the vessel.
There were 218 passengers and 20 crew on board. No one was hurt, although one passenger reported being thrown several feet when the collision occurred.
