THE organisers of next week's Trial des Nations and Women's World Trial events are keeping their fingers crossed that the latest outbreak of foot-and-mouth in the South of England does not escalate.
A spokesman for the Peveril MCC confirmed at the weekend that as conditions stand the event will take place, although various precautionary measures are being instigated to ensure the virus is not carried on to the Island.
Fortunately the venues to be used are predominantly on the coast and around the Douglas and Onchan area well away from farm land.
