SARASOTA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 1996--U.S. sunglass sales are expected to heat up starting with the Memorial Day weekend, with premium-priced eyewear representing the hottest selling segment of this burgeoning market, according to Stephen Nevitt, President of Solar-Mates Inc. (NASDAQ: SOLR) of Sarasota.
Consumer sales of sunglasses typically shoot up by 10-15 percent as June approaches -- they surged by nearly 12 percent in 1995 -- and this year is expected to be no different.
