Scouts celebrate landmark date in style
Cub scouts in Luton marked their 90th anniverary with a big birthday party, and invited plenty of people to help them celebrate, including one special guest.
Sprightly 90-year-old Violet Bland was guest of honour at the bash, as she was born on October 14, 1916 - the same year that the cub scout movement started.

Mrs Bland, known to her friends as Vi, is a regular bingo player at the Birdsfoot Lane scout headquarters, although she has only ever won a tin of beans.
