The Twins were awfully somber as they filed back to the clubhouse Sunday, considering they had just racked up a season-high 17 hits and finished sweeping Seattle with an 11-8 victory at the Metrodome.
The prevailing mood was relief. Music played, but hardly at usual post-victory decibels.
"Someone said, `Hey, we won! We just swept a series!' " Twins closer Joe Nathan said. "I think it broke the ice and loosened some guys up."
Once again, the bullpen had turned them into nervous wrecks.
After leading 8-0, the Twins needed Nathan to escape two bases-loaded jams -- in the eighth inning and ...
