It's official: America's most popular superhero is Batman.
According to Box Office Mojo (a Web site that keeps track of theater statistics), the caped crusader's latest cinematic incarnation, "The Dark Knight," made $441,541,000 in ticket sales in its first 24 days. That's almost as much as this year's Marvel movies, "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk," combined. By the time this column sees print, that total -- $451,271,000 -- should be well eclipsed.
Right now, "The Dark Knight" has become the No. 3 all time domestic gross box office champ, just nosing out "Shrek 2's" $441,541,000. (Mike Myers' ...
