New West Genesee football coach Joe Corley faces a big challenge in his budding career.
Last year's team ended the season on a six-game winning streak en route to the Class AA state championship. He's lost 31 players to graduation and the team opens fall practice at 9 a.m. Monday with a big target on its back.
"Last year's team set some pretty high standards here, no question," said Corley, who was the offensive line coach for the 11-2 Wildcats last season. "Now, every team we play will circle the date of their game with West Genny on their schedule. We know that."
